Rubber Matting to Aid in Traction

Rubber Matting to Aid in Traction

In the southern parts of Western Australia, many of the 4WD tracks have rubber matting installed going up and down the hill climbs. The aim is to prevent damage to the tracks, and keep it accessible without having to navigate huge washouts and ruts.

The rubber matting is good if its looked after, but it often gets rolled up, and the pins that hold it in place come loose, which are a serious concern for punctures.
