How to turn 15 days of annual leave into 34 days off in 2017

Annual leave; its a precious commodity! I’m never one to have more than a couple of weeks of annual leave saved up, and that’s only when we have something planned!

If you use the public holidays well, you can turn 15 days of annual leave in 2017 into 34 days off. After all, there are so many places to take your 4WD, and so little time!

If you want more time off, you can take 19 days of annual leave for 40 days off!

Easter

Good Friday is on the 14th of April, with Easter Monday on the 17th and Anzac day on Tuesday the 25th.

There are plenty of different options:

Take 4 days annual leave before or after Easter for 10 days off

Take 5 days annual leave after Easter for 12 days off

Take 8 days annual leave before and after Easter for 16 days off.

Take 9 days annual leave (4 before, 5 after) for 18 days off

Take 12 days annual leave (4 before, 8 after) for 24 days off

Christmas

Christmas Day is on Monday 25th of December, with Boxing day Tuesday and New years day on Monday 2nd January.

Here’s your options:

Take 3 days annual leave after Christmas for 10 days off

Take 7 days annual leave after Christmas for 16 days off.

Book your annual leave

If you haven’t booked your annual leave and some of the above dates suit, get on it! Remember these periods are usually busier, which can be an issues depending on where you are travelling, but they are excellent bang for your buck.
