Driven to Drive 4WD Competition in Manjimup

There’s not too many dedicated 4WD competitions in Western Australia, so to hear another one is coming up very shortly is awesome news. If you’ve got time, head down and support them.

When and where?

The event starts on November 28th at 9AM, at the Manjimup Speedway. It’s just over 3 hours to get there from Perth, located in a region with fantastic camp sites and places to explore. The speedway is located on Middlesex road, just south of Manjimup

Event Schedule

It seems like things are a little flexible here, but it will start at 9AM, with breaks at 12:30PM and 5:30PM. There’s also a night stage starting at 7PM, and on Sunday the tracks are running from 9AM to 12PM.

Gates will open at 8:30AM on both days, and close at 9:00PM on Saturday and 12:30PM on Sunday.

About the track and vehicles

There’s a range of Suzuki’s, Jeeps, Hilux’s, Patrols and Land Cruisers who have signed up for the event. The track at the speedway (and the night event on the main track, under lights) comprises of dirt, mud, trees, rocks and logs. There’s something to test every vehicle out, and should make for a great event.

Can I enter?

Unfortunately, the entry period has closed, so if you haven’t already put your name down, its too late this year!

Food and drinks

There will be food and coffee vans on site to purchase refreshments as required.

Where can I stay?

There is no camping available at the speedway, but there are various caravan parks, DPAW camp sites and free camping in the area. If you aren’t into camping, there are a range of cottages, hotels and motels in the area at your disposal.

What’s the entry cost?

Entry fees for those over 14 are $20 on Saturday and $10 on Sunday. If you want to go to both days, its $25. Those under 14 get in for free, as long as they are accompanied by a paying adult.

No BYO alcohol

You are not allowed to bring your own alcohol to this event. Apparently vehicles are going to be checked upon entry, and alcohol confiscated. There is a bar open from around 5PM on Saturday night.
