Launching a boat off the beach

Launching a boat off the beach

Launching a boat off the beach can be difficult, depending on how large your boat is. However, if you let your tyres down correctly on both the car and boat trailer you shouldn’t have too much of a problem. This photo was taken at Eagle Bay near Dunsborough.

Did you need to be towed out or were you able to pull it out? I have a similar boat and size and will be beach launching soon.. Thanks..

    Hi Gerry,

I was towed out on this particular retrieval, because the tyres were still at full pressure. Ultimately it comes down to your vehicle, the driver, the tyre pressures and the beach on any given day. I’ve launched a much heavier boat at Lucky Bay in just as soft conditions with the tyres down and had no issues. A set of Maxtrax go a long way though!
