In Australia, Mullies are a common form of bait for fishing. They are just small fish that are caught in massive numbers. If you get fresh Mullies you will have much more luck. Most fish will eat these including tailor, mulloway, sharks, stingrays, salmon, herring, groper and wahoo. They are very effective all the way up the coast in Western Australia, from Willbinga to Lake Jasper and beyond.
