Upper Murray River Camping

We are on a mission to find more amazing camp sites within a couple of hours of Perth, and with nothing more than a screenshot from Google Earth and some basic maps, we headed off towards Dwellingup.

We’ve stayed at camp sites along the Captain Fawcett Track which were amazing (and free), but Western Australia is a big place, and there are camp sites everywhere if you are prepared to put the time in.

The trip down was pretty quick, and we spent a good hour and a half looking around for a suitable spot. I’m going to be a bit vague as to where this place is, so it stays a little less known. I’m sure if you really want to find it, you will! It’s not that far from Lane Poole Reserve.

  1. You aren’t wrong. All it takes is a bit of research, some patience and willingness to look around. We will be doing a lot more of it in the future!

  2. Looks like a great spot. You really don’t have to venture too far from the city to get a spot all too yourself.
