Jarrahdale 4WDing

I’d been itching to take the 80 for a drive off road, and when a few hours presented themselves one Saturday afternoon I was off like a rocket. We met at Byford, and headed to a small track with some fun ruts, and then went onto Jarrahdale.

There are plenty of 4WD tracks in Jarrahdale just off Albany Hwy, just make sure you don’t go into any water catchment areas or private property. Enjoy the photos.

The start of the fun

Lots of offset ruts

No way I’d try this in the Hilux

Stretching the springs

Coils doing their job

Front flex

Twin lockers on

Loving the Landcruiser

Suspension working well

Crossed up

Ruts are lots of fun

80 Series off road

Even a wheel off the ground

Trying not to scratch the GU

Showing Jorge some real 4WD tracks

Lifting a wheel off

This thing loves to lift front wheels

GU time

Rear LSD working well

Front end not flexing

More air time

Jarrahdale rocks

Big rock formations

A big rock at Jarrahdale

The out numbered Toyota

If you are looking for Perth 4WD tracks, there’s plenty around. Just stick to where you are allowed, and leave no trace.

Hi guys, would you be able to point me to the right direction as in where the tracks started? Albany Hwy is a pretty long road! I was hopping to head down there this weekend.

    Cheers

    Hey mate,

There are some off Nettleton road – the first photos that you see on the above post. This is only a tiny track; about 100 meters long. The other tracks can be found if you head out Jarrahdale road, and turn left onto Albany hwy. They are on the eastern side not too far along. You will see the start of the tracks – sandy roads basically.

Thanks for that, mate. I will have a look at it!

I’m from WA I live in the Peel region and because of the Coronavirus we can’t leave our region but we can still 4×4 in our region so this website has helped me to find some awesome tracks!

    Hi Thomas,

You are welcome mate, although I’m pretty sure you should be staying at home unless its essential or for exercise

    All the best

Hi Aaron, I also didn’t think we can go 4wd but any ideas how we can find out please.
would love to get out in the bush again.

    Hi Jennie,

I don’t think there are any laws forbidding you from 4WDing in WA, but we’ve been asked to stay home unless its essential, or exercise related. No matter how you look at it, 4WDing isn’t essential.

If people use their common sense then the rules will stay relaxed. If not, they will make it illegal.

    All the best

Has that 80 series got a lift or some suspension upgrade?

  • Aaron Schubert September 24, 2020, 7:36 PM

    Hey Gregor,

That was our old 80 series, which was running a heavy duty Old Man Emu suspension upgrade, with a minor lift. Nothing fancy, but it worked very well. It was twin locked though.

    All the best
    Aaron
